Different types of bent up bars cases in real field of civil engineering 

hanger bar:

    this will be in the shape of trapezoidal groove it is provided to over come the shear which is caused by the secondary beam which is shown below and also it is provided in the case of longer span with 1m depth or grater.

C hooks:

these type of bars are used to fill the connections as shown below  these are used in the column beam junctions or in the footings 

 
C bents 
these type of bents are made to resist earthquake forces and these type of reinforcement in the beams can resist more moments and transfers effectively. the extreme edges are bent both the top and bottom bars if there is good skilled bar benders



 U hooks:

 This type of u hooks are  used in the case of stripes  where there is no possibility to fix the regular stripes we will go for these type of bent bars generally we will insert  the 2 bars top to bottom and bottom to top
